Replacement is just a simple matter of unbolting the old parts and installing the new parts. Don\'t let these parts get too worn before replacement or the wear will extend into the actual blower housing and cause damage to it.

I replaced lots of parts using multiple tools. The only problems I had was due to rusted fasteners. I had a great experience with eReplacementParts my order arrived very fast including one part (the chute assembly) all pieces fit perfect. I did a major overhaul now the blower is running great.

My Craftsman snowblower was rusting

I removed the auger housing assembly from the motor/pulley assembly. Removed the auger assembly from the auger housing, disassembled the augers from the auger axle and gear assembly, the sheer bolts broke off in the disassembly, as they are designed to do. Drilled out the broken sheer bolts from the augers and auger drive shaft. I disasse mbled the snowdrift cutters and various support parts from the auger housing. I used naval jelly to treat the rusted parts, basically the outer housing of the snowblower motor assembly, the augers, the entire auger housing, the snowdrift cutters and sundry parts of the auger housing. I then used a grinder and a poly paint removal grinder wheel to clear loose paint and rust off the outer housing of the snowblower motor assembly, the augers, the entire auger housing, the snowdrift cutters and sundry parts of the auger housing. I cleaned everything with mineral spirits and soap and water. Repainted all the parts with Rustoleum yellow or black enamel, where appropriate. I cleaned the snow deflector angle cable with WD40 and greased it with automatic transmission fluid, which was light enough to lube the cable without freezing in winter. Reassembled it all with new skid plates, new sheer bolts, a new auger shaft bearing and new click pins and tested it to make sure it still ran and functioned properly.

It all took several weeks but considering the cost of a new snowblower of this quality, and the effort to hand shovel a 75 foot drive every dang day next winter, it was worth it.

Auger impeller bearing wore out after 11 years, drive pulley sheared key

Disassembled, like replacing belts, removed remains of old bearing, cleaned up shaft at pulley area. Replaced defective parts and reassembled. Pretty straight forward after reading the manual. Used a tie down instead of a second person to pull auger section and power section together on re assembly. Could do it slowly and steadily while c hecking fit and clearance and it held sections together while I put the attachment bolts in the housing. All parts matched the originals with no problems and would use this website again .

Trial by error. Not to hard. Only challenge is by attempting to repair without the manual or user guide. Found the original skid plates were installed backwards from the manufacturer. All the replacement parts look just like the original parts :-)

Ordered new skids & all new shoulder bolts with nuts - only hang up was removing the old corroded hardware. Used Vice Grips to hold the rounded head of the shoulder bolts from spinning to remove the lock nuts. Installation of new skids with new hardware was simple.

Happy with parts availability & relatively quick standard deivery.
