With sprocket wrench,take off nuts and sprocket cover. Loosen the tension screw a few turns. Put on gloves and remove bar and chain. Fit new chain into bar slot and slide chain over the clutch and down around the drive gear, as you fit the bar back over the two holding bolts. Check to be sure the chain is on the gear and in the bar slot

Then, holding it in place, put the cover back on over the bolts, If it doesn\'t fit the tension nut into the hole in the bar, you may need to turn the screw with fingers to get it so the tensioner fits in and the cover goes on evenly and snugly, BEFORE you put on the nuts and tighten it down loosely. Check to see if it is in by using a screwdriver to tighten it. It won\'t tighten if the L-nut isn\'t in the bar. Once that works, you may tighten the cover down, but not too tight. Many knuckles have suffered from a slipped wrench on an overtightened cover. Good luck.
I removed the chain cover on the side of saw with a wrench. Removed the old blade. Fit the new chain on guide. Replaced cover loosely.
Tightened the tension. Secured the cover by tightening the screws. Was ready to go! Quick and easy. I highly recommend ordering replacement parts that are specified for your brand of tool. Af

I simply replaced the old parts with new ones in the reverse order of their removal. I did have to refer to my owner\'s repair manual for the clutch set.
Removed the old and installed the new. Got the saw used. Was abused, had to adjust the carb etc. but not a big deal got new chain and bar cuts like a dream now with the proper tune at 8500 feet elevation. No tools required.
