Old drive belt and worn friction wheel

Screwdriver, Wrench Set, Hot water
1 Remove spark plug wire
2 Remove blade, using a block of wood to stop blade turning
3 Remove cover over drive system
4 Make sure gas tank is empty
5 Turn mower on side remove old belt from below deck
6 Install new belt with idler arm in correct position.
Friction wheel
1 Pry off old wheel
2 Warm new wheel in hot water
3 Pry on new wheel using philips screw drivers so you don't cut wheel with a sharp blade.
2 Remove blade, using a block of wood to stop blade turning
3 Remove cover over drive system
4 Make sure gas tank is empty
5 Turn mower on side remove old belt from below deck
6 Install new belt with idler arm in correct position.

1 Pry off old wheel

Removed fan belt pulleys rear wheels and rear axle assembly the dealer told me it's a 14 year old machine wanted 175.00. If I get another year or two I will be happy..... Ariens on line service Manuel was helpful. You do need some mechanical skills to perform repairs
