It is a genuine OEM upper support that is designed for Jet and Powermatic band saws. The component helps to secure parts on the equipment. If it is damaged or is missing, this will provide an identical replacement for a missing or a faulty item that was installed on a new unit. Check the appropriate diagrams for your model for the exact location and the correct installation. One durable metal part is included. Note, the hardware to secure it is sold separately. To perform this repair you will need a wrench set to remove the old component and resecure the new one.

2. Took off other parts one at a time and put them on new Jet/Powermatic bracket.
3. Installed back on bandsaw.
4. Re-calibrated roller, blade alignment, etc...

On various chat-boards, a couple people said they had to ream and re-thread a couple bolt holes.
I did not, all old bolts fit just fine.
Upper arm support broke at set screw, had to use another item from a different band saw. The replacement part fit great and was easy to install

Fitted the new bracket and most parts fit but I had to file the guide bracket so that the upper blade guide would fit into the slot in the guide bracket.
I also ran a tap through the screw threads to clean them up.
Reassembled the saw and adjusted. All works well!

So I ordered it. When it came in, I sat it down side by side with the broken part. Then one piece at a time started removing parts from the broken piece and attaching it to the new part. I then just had to attach it to the saw and everything worked.
