The most common reasons for replacing the traction cable are when the auger doesn’t turn or the snow blower wheels won’t turn. This part is sold individually. Remove back panel exposing drive gears
Used a step drill to open a hole above the rear cable hook up
Disconnected broken cable and installed the new cable
Reassemble unit

Auger control cable broke

Parts Used
Removed the bottom access panel with socket set, remove 2 bolts and loosen other 2 bolts. Removed end cap off of control rod and used Mallot to drive shaft down so I could get enough clearance to remove old cable. Removed old cable and used a pair of needle nose pliers to insert cable end into shaft hole. Used long screw driver to push and hold control lever rod to put end cap back in with Mallot. Next connect Auger cable to lever cable and reinstall lower access panel and do an ops check.
