This is a genuine Craftsman replacement part manufactured for use with gas powered trimmers. The special throttle control trigger is the actuator that engages the throttle cable that opens the throttle valve on the carburetor. This throttle control trigger is sold individually, please note the throttle cable is available separately.

    Removed the covers, found broken pieces of the throttle trigger, surprised I didn't find a spring for the throttle lever. Took a couple minutes to realize there was no spring, the plastic arm on the trigger was the spring--can't believe it lasted as long as it did. hooked the throttle cable into the lever, reinstalled cover.

    Easy repair. Remove the screws from the throttle housing, then remove the old throttle lever and take out the the throttle cable. Place the new trigger in its spot and put the housing back together.

    Removed the screws from the handle. Remove the throttle cable from the broken trigger, installed the new trigger and hooked the throttle cable to it. Then reassembled the handle.

    1. Removed screws and parted handle halves.
    2. Removed broken trigger and disconnected cable.
    3. Connected cable to new trigger and replaced.
    4. Reconnected handle halves and replaced screws.
    Note: The screws in the handle are not all the same length, need to pay special attention where the long and short ones need to be.
