Product Description ?

This package includes one set of two pulleys. The pulley wheels on your bike do the job of moving the chain across the cassette, allowing you to change gears, as well as keeping the chain tensioned. In the process, they turn thousands of times, and dirt and residue build up, causing them to wear out over time. if you notice the teeth are very sharp or worn away, they will need replacing. If the pulleys have worn out, the chain could risk not engaging perfectly.
To know if they need replacing, you can remove the back wheel and then try and turn the wheels by hand. If when you are turning the wheel and you are finding it has a lot of resistance, the pulley wheels should be replaced. It is very important to purchase the proper pulley wheel for your model or the chain will not work efficiently, or at all.
When performing the installation, take note of the arrows located on one side of the pulley, showing the chain direction. The side with the arrows should face away from the rear wheel. When powering forward the arrows point in the same direction that the chain is moving. To distinguish between the tension pulley and guide, you'll notice the that tension pulley doesn't wiggle back and forth, however the guide pulley will move side to side by pushing it with your two fingers. It is important that you do not mix these two pulleys up.
To replace the pulley wheels, you will need to remove the rear wheel and change them individually. Use an allen key to remove the guide pulley first, remove pulley wheel, pay attention to the arrows and ensure it is being installed in the right direction. Remove the tension pulley using the same process. Clean up the cage with a rag. Now place it inside the cage. Use your bolt to place it on, make note of any torque recommendations. Now refit your rear wheel. Once installed make sure that the pulleys spin freely.
