Parts Used
On the bottom there are 5 security torx screws, 4 Phillips screws and two 9mm nuts that need to be removed. Then the bottom part can be lifted up. To completely remove, you will need to disassemble the magnetic power receptacle and slide it through the opening in the bottom part.
Before ordering I measured the heating element to see whether there was some non zero resistance (if I remember correctly it was 200 ohms). So I guessed that it was ok. Then I noticed the TCO attached with a nut to the bottom of the pot. I disconnected the spade connector on one end of the wire it was connected to and measured continuity across the TCO, but there was none.
To remove the TCO, unscrew the nut that is holding it and slide the protective tubing off. TCO is crimped on to the wire on both ends. Cut the old TCO out, strip wires and crimp the new TCO on.
Reassemble.
