    Questions & Answers for Switch-stop

My switch has 2 leads, but there is nothing connected to the switch. Should there not be a wire that connects to the armature? The switch seems to work, but the engine backfires when I release the red safety rod
Paul for model number 104M050057F1 asked on 2023-11-02
Hi Paul, Thank you for your question. There is a ground wire that usually connects to the armature-magneto. Here is a link to one of YouTube videos that may assist you with your repair, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gs4wHCoWJs. If your engine is backfiring, you are using gasoline with a high alcohol content, you are lowering the speed of the engine too fast, the carburetor is not adjusted correctly, or the engine temperature is too high. We hope this helps!

I am repairing the toro lawnmower. It looks like a part is missing from the kill switch mechanism. I think I need Switch-Stop Part Number 692310. Do I need that and anything else?
Michael for model number toro 20043 asked on 2023-05-29
Hello Michael, Thank you for writing. If the Stop is the only part missing, the rest of the switch can be reused. We hope this helps!
