This replacement switch is secured under the seat to act as a safety feature, the mower will only start if the user is properly seated and it will shut down the mower if the user falls out of the seat. Over time switches may develop either electrical or mechanical issues eventually failing and requiring a replacement. Removed the engine shroud on top of the engine. Ignitions and diode immediately underneath with. 5 bolts loosened freeing the ignitions and diode. Ereplacenent makes it very easy to order parts at reasonable prices.

Replaced solenoid and switch. Switch was cracked . Easy fix. Before purchase checked solenoid across terminals to determine it had failed.
