This engine has a low oil shut-off feature. I by-passed the low oil pressure sending unit, & the engine ran OK. I sent for a new sending unit, & received it in record time. After installing it in the oil filter adaptor, the engine/generator ran like new! I'm glad I checked it out before actually needing it due to a power outage.

This device was a gift. Previous owner had replaced the carb, the spark plug and was in the process of a complete tear down, I disconnected the leads to the pressure switch and it ran just fine. Then installed the new pressure switch. "Problem solved". Thanks so much!

    Oil Preasure Switch was bad

    Keith - July 29, 2018
👍 2 of 2 people found this instruction helpful
    1 Drained the oil
2 Had to remove oil filter to get more room. (glad I decide to get an new oil filter too)
3 Use a large deep socket to loosen the oil switch, after that it was very easy to remove
put the new one back in, put new oil filter on and filled with oil. That Finished the oil switch.
4 I then replace the two air filters it had and that was it (Worked great after)

The oil light came on as though there was low oil. The oil was fine. The generator would not stay running, since the oil pressure unit was defective. One replaced, the generator works fine.
