Remove the shroud bolts. Carefully remove the recoil assembly being cautious as the spring may pop out. Check new assembly for fit and alignment. Make sure centrifugal parts move freely. Install into crank shaft hub. Insert bolts to outer shroud and torque to spec. Test unit. I recommend pulling the cord gently the first time to ensure the unit is not binding. Pull cord to full length and then check to ensure retraction is complete. Then test the unit in start mode. Listen for any unusual rattling in the recoil assembly.
