    Reattached the governor and throttle linkage including the stabilizer springs. Replaced diaphragm in the carburetor and air filter element. This 1978 5 hp John Deere log slitter runs and splits logs the way it use designed to do.

    Disconnected throttle, kill switch and gov. spring. Removed fuel tank and carb. as a unit. Removed carb. from tank. Disassembled carb. Cleaned all ports and opening with carb. cleaner. Used compressed air to blow out all opening. Reassembled carb using new parts. Mounted carb. to fuel tank and attached to engine. Reconnected everything. After starting engine, a little adjustment to carb and good to go.
