This governor spring regulates the engine speed in your lawn equipment. It works in conjunction with the governor mechanism to control the throttle and prevent the engine from over-revving or running at an excessively low speed. It is commonly found near the throttle assembly. Keep an eye out for signs of wear, damage, or stretching in the spring. If it appears weak, worn, or if you notice engine surging or difficulty maintaining a steady speed, it may indicate a broken governor spring. Before replacing the spring, ensure the engine has cooled down. Remove the wire and boot from the spark plug and turn off the fuel valve. To replace the governor spring, unhook both ends of the old spring while taking note of the connection points. Install the new spring by hooking one end onto the governor lever and the other end onto the control bracket assembly. Once securely attached, turn the fuel valve back on and reattach the spark plug wire and boot. This replacement part is sourced directly from its original equipment manufacturer.
