On Shimano Sustain 10000 fg. Loosen and remove the drag knob from the main shaft. Then remove the spool assembly. Next remove the spool shims, washer, bearing and damaged spool support from the main shaft. Install the new Shimano spool support on the main shaft. Make sure that the support is turned the correct way with flush side down. Next slide the bearing, washer and spool shims back on to the main shaft in that order. Put the spool assembly back on the man shaft. Finally put the drag knob back on. Repair is complete. "The spool support has teeth that contact the drag clicker. If this part is badly damaged it will cause the reel to be silent when line is coming off the reel. This part and repair is the proper fix for the issue.

1.Removed the drag knob.
2.Removed the Spool assembly.
3.Removed the Spool Shims.
4. Removed and replaced the stripped out spool support I ordered from ereplacementparts.com. Easy to slide off/on the spool shaft with out the use of tools.
5.Reassembled parts in the order they came apart.
6.Checked to confirm that issue was resolved and repair was good.
7.Repair went well and the clicker is loud and crisp, as new. Thanks ereplacementparts.com!
