2.Contain hydraulic oil.
3. Separate engine from pump.
4. Remove couplings w/ spider spacer. 1/8" Allen wrench required (maybe rust blaster) for set screws.
5. Secure woodruff keys from each coupling half.
6.Steel wool & bearing grease pump & engine shafts.
7.Reinstall new couplings with set screws not tight.
8.Lower engine to pump. Pump has Spider spacer on its coupling. Jiggle to interlock couplings.
9.Reposition engine & pump frame(main frame w/ wheels) to set .02-.09 gauge space. Hard to do.
10.Tighten set screws(70#) w/ Allen wrench. Grease in Woodruff slots can fool you on tightness.
11.Secure engine to main frame. Reconnect hoses. Check hydraulic oil. Start engine.
12. Engine pull start will be "stiff" at first.
13. Exercise splitter 10-12 times.
Recheck oil.
14. Double check set screw tightness after a little splitting.
