Remove outer housing (4 nuts on studs)
Used impact wrench to remove 3/8 bolt that holds the blade on
Install new blade and tighten bolt securely
Install outer housing

All the blades needed sharpening, ordered new to have on hand when existing wear out.

Removed chipper intake to get access to screw heads,flipped up guard to get wrench on nuts unscrewed fasteners, removed blades, sharpened blades and reinstalled opposite of removal.

Socket set, Wrench Set, Allen head wrench

1. Unbolted and removed 6 nuts from captive bolts on blade side of housing.
2. Unbolted and removed 2 nuts from captive bolts on support bracket siding of housing.
3. Tilt back housing until the support bracket holes are clear of the captive bolts.
4. When the housing assembly becomes free, lift assembly away and set aside.
5. Remove the backing plate.
6. On the blade, rotate it until Allen head wrench can access center of counter sunk bolts and half inch socket wrench can access nut behind blade.
7. Loosen and remove each countersunk bolt after immobilizing blade
8. With blade immobilized, remove center bolt
9. Assembly of blade and housing is opposite of removal.
10. Tighten all bolts securely.

The design of the equipment, literally requires totally disassembly of unit to get access to blades The chute and leaf hopper. It does make it simpler to take both apart and replace all blades at same time. This allows free access to all fasteners

Flail blades were old and needed replaced and same for shredder blade

Removed casing that covers blade assembly removed flail blades and shredder blade. All very simple, just make sure you have the right sockets and allen wrenches. All in all real simple.
