Product Description ?

This kit includes a step-by-step manual, 1 syringe, 1 hose, 1 funnel, and 1 oil stopper. Always use the appropriate brake fluid for the brake being serviced. For example, never use D.O.T fluid for brakes designed for mineral oil and vice versa. Mixing fluids can cause damage to the bikes components and ultimately lead to brake failure. Never share bleed kits between different types of fluids.
Depending on how often or how far you ride your bike, you may need to bleed your brakes every 6 months. Signs to look for to know if your brakes need to be bled are, if they are feeling squishy, you have to pull the lever almost all the way to the handlebars before they work, or just complete failure of your brakes.
The process of brake bleeding is to remove air bubbles from the brake fluid used in hydraulic braking systems. The same process of bleeding air from the system is also used for removing old brake fluid and replacing with new fluid. Both procedures can be done at the same time.
For this repair, you will need an allen key, Phillips screwdriver, 7mm open spanner, bleed block (if you have one), mineral oil (for Shimano systems), and gloves. Use the syringe to push fluid through the brake system and purge air into the funnel. The first step is to level the brake lever, so it is flat. Next, remove the bleed screw, screw syringe, add oil, and pump the lever to remove air bubbles. Next, remove the bleed valve cap and place the hose over the bleed valve using a bottle. Next, pump the lever until it is firm, open and shut bleed valve while keeping the lever depressed and repeat this until all the old fluid has been removed. Now remove excess oil, leaving a small amount. Be careful not to remove any oil from the reservoir. Carefully unscrew syringe, secure the bleed screw back into place, and reposition the brake lever.
