This is an original KitchenAid part. This Pouring Shield is an accessory to all 6 quart KitchenAid stand mixers. This part is made of a hard clear plastic. The Shield is used to help contain ingredients in the mixing bowl and allows for adding ingredients while mixing. The Shield fits perfectly on top of the mixing bowl. If any cracks have formed or if the Shield has warped and no longer sits flush with the bowl, it needs to be replaced. This product is dishwasher safe on the upper rack.
