Product Description ?

This replacement switch is a genuine OEM part, not an aftermarket equivalent. It is supplied directly from original equipment manufacturer for Murray riding lawn mowers and tractors. This switch is secured under the seat to prevent the engine from running without a driver in a seat. Mechanical switches over time tend to wear out requiring replacement. Works Like It Ought
This part works perfectly for an easy fix to a simple but necessary problem. Without it, the mower will stubbornly protect me from running over myself or others.

Good item if one needs it.
This part took almost 2 weeks to receive. A bit disappointing when one is trying to get a riding lawn mower up and going as fast as possible. It is a decent part if one needs it. I bought this part because it said that this part was one of the most likely things I should replace first to see if it would run. This part was not the answer though.

Thanks, but still have same problem.
Thanks for the quick and courteous service, but still have the same problem. Did a complete troubleshooting on the electrical system, and the seat switch is still causing the mower not to start. Also had this problem when the mower was new in 2005. The mower ran for 2 weeks then quit. I'll keep working on it, until it runs right again. When I disconnect the switch. it starts and runs.

Living 75 miles from nearest repair place, and not an electrical guy, I replaced parts that were instrumental to start the mower. Youtube videos helped on most things, and most parts swapped out with minmal effort with common tools. BUT the replacement of the primary belt was from the lower bowels of the earth! You need to remove the mowing deck, and it helps to really get this tractor off the ground onto ramps and jack up the rear end so you can get underneath. Everything else was easy. Trouble is I'm 76 and have cancer which really messes with logical, sequential thinking. The problem with the starting issue was that I needed to replace the solenoid, the only part I didn't buy a replacement for---naturally. So I had to use a temporary, bypassing momentary switch to get the tractor to run, which it did---nicely. Having not done any of this work before, this replacing business has been an adventure. Thankfully, eReplacement people helped me through it with timely advice, and great replacement parts. They are my go-to people! Great pricing too!

Tractor would die out when engaging the clutch or cutting deck

I unhitched the two limit switches, one behind the removable door under the steering wheel, the other under the left foot rest. Pushed the mounting clip out from behind to remove the old limit switches. Pushed the new switches in the mounting holes until they snapped in fully, replugged in the power cables and that was done.
The seat switch which is under the seat removes by squeezing in two clips and it will come out of the mounting hole. Unplug the old unit by squeezing the clip holding the power cable to the switch, plug the new one in and reseat it in the mounting hole and done. Less than 10 minutes total repair time. Runs like new again.
