I removed the end cap on the stapler and noticed the seal was crumbling and get lodged in the piston and keeping it from sealing. So I found the inexpensive part on ereplacementparts, com and replaced it. Hardest part was locating the correct seal. luckily I saved the original manual and it had a parts list in it.

    3. Remove cylinder, keeping track of hammer and bumpers/spacers at the front.
    4. Remove broken pieces of rear cylinder seal.
    5. Clean cylinder and check O-rings, applying oil as necessary.
    6. Reinstall cylinder, hammer, bumper, spacers into main body.
    7. Line up gasket and reinstall cap.
    8. Dry fire before trying nails. Hammer may need to reset itself internally.
