  • perfect fit.
it went in easier than it came out. exhaust bolts can be difficult at times especially when it breaks off at the threads
    Richard - May 17, 2020 Verified Purchase
    It was the right part
my original bolts were stripped out and part of the threading in the housing as well. so the new bolt didn't have enough bite to hold so i did a workaround with another type bolt but there must have been a different problem than missing gaskets and bad bolts. Oil blew out everywhere. threw the whole machine away.

Over a period of time, the small bold at the top rattled off. With it missing the muffler was rattling more and both of the bolts broke off inside the body of the engine and the muffler fell off.

    1. I used the chisel and hammer to carefully remove the remaining broken bolts from the engine. 2. Once removed, i used the new gasket, the new bolts and the old muffler and bolted it all back on.
    3. I then replaced the small bolt on the top to attach the muffler securely to the frame.

Remove carb, muffler, flywheel cover, flywheel and engine head, check for damage to valves and piston, clean cylinder head and top of piston, replace head gasket and head, adjust valves to manufactures specs, replace carband other parts that were removed, sounds complicated but it`s really not.

I first had to get the broken bolts out of the housing. This took the most time. How ever I got lucky and was able to grab the end and unscrew both bolts with vise grips. That does not happen often. After that I replaced the broken screws with the new ones I ordered. I also replaced the screws on the muffler guard. Screws worked great and was back to mowing the jungle that had grown up within a few days. Gee, that was fun. Thank you replacementparts.com for getting my order to me in a timely manner.
