This durable nylon starter rope is an authentic OEM supplied replacement part that is specially produced for use with Briggs and Stratton engines that are commonly installed on Toro lawn and garden equipment. When the rope is pulled to start the engine, it is returned back into the starter pulley by means of the starter spring. One starter rope is included per order, please note the handle grip and other parts are all sold separately.

    1. Removed cowl and starter assy.
    2. Removed broken rope
    3. Attached new rope
    4. Wound spring tight
    5. Reattached starter rope assy
    6. Reassembled cowl

    Replace worn out starter rope and pull handle,

    Pliers, Socket set, Wrench Set

    1 Remove starter housing
    2 Pulled rope all the way out and held fully extended
    3 Cut knot on old rope and discarded it then threaded new rope with handle installed, tied knot and let the rope slow retract in
    4 Place new stop in to position and crimped on to rope.
    5 Take plastic cover of drive belt( 1 screw on mine) remove bolt that hold cable then remove and replaced traction cable, adjusted to proper position to engage drive belt. after complete put cover back over drive belt
    Very simple repair, just need to pay attention to how you disassemble to make sure everything aligns with out interference.
    Handle knobs just remove old one and spin new ones on.

    Lawnmower stater rope broken

    Removed stickers very cerfuly removed plastic shoes covers. Removed starter hosing removed old broken rope. Reround the starter mekanizum replaced the new rope. Let go of the spring mekanium. And installed the Rotherham parts. Tested it to see if work’s properly.

    Starter rope broke

    Screwdriver, Pliers, Socket set, Nutdriver, Socket

    Remove engine shroud. Cut off old rope.turn rope holder counter clockwise seven or eight turns. Hold with screwdriver so it does not turn. Tread new rope in hole and tie knot at other end of rope do the same for the handle. Take out screwdriver and install shroud on engine.

    Replacing the starter rope

    Wound recoil starter and locked in place removed old rope . Replaced with new one then slowly let the recoil stater back With new rope on. Replaced the starter housing back on the motor.

    Removed gas tank.
    Removed recoil housing
    Pulled old rope to fully extended
    Placed screw driver thru holes to hold recoil in fully extended position
    Removed old rope and installed new rope
    Reinstalled recoil housing
    Reinstalled tank
