Cut and removed dog hair from around brushes to free up rotation.
Replaced both drive belts with new parts.
Reassembled carpet cleaner and tested.
Works as good as new!
Only tool needed was phillips screwdriver.

2. Removed the cover plate of the assembly.

5. Reinstalled.

Replace front suction assembly
Replace belts (they were 6 years old and well used)
Replace detent lever (the most time consuming)
I'm old school...take it apart and remember the order and where you took it off of. lower end was easy, 5 screws only and only one way to reinstall.
Detent lever required disassembly of upper half of handle followed by disassembly of the lower half. after that it was easy, just two screws. then reverse the order you got there and its done...
