This genuine item is supplied by the original equipment manufacturer for use with Murray, Simplicity and Snapper lawn mowers. It is the special retaining ring for the wheel. If the hardware is missing or is damaged, this will provide an identical replacement for the original part that was installed on a new unit. One durable metal retaining ring is included.     Axle bushings wore down to where the axle had too much play and would kink the chain drive.

    Screwdriver, Wrench Set, Rubber Mallet

    1.Remove wheels and bottom plate
    2. Utilize a screwdriver to pull worn out bushings out (retainer ring was wore completely away)
    3. Put in new bushings on both sides
    4. Pounded the retaining ring on both sides using a rubber mallet to push the ring all the way into the slot to hold bushing in place
    5. Replaced bottom plate with new screws and lock washers
    6. Wiped excess lubricant and the snow blower ran great

    Arbor shaft went bad splined washer broke (Alumitnum)

    Socket set, Hammer and socket to put on retaining ring

    Removed deck removed arbor shaft assembly replaced put back together put it in the deck put belt back on blade drive deck back on deck drive belt on works perfectly!

    Worn out bearings.

    Screwdriver, Pliers, Socket set, Wrench Set

    Remove the bottom cover pan. remove wheels, remove locking washers , remove sprocket wheel bolt, slide out the axle, tap out bearings ( one on each side ). Tap new bearings in and add a small amount of grease then reverse the procedure for installation.
