How to remove cartridge in bathroom fixture
Carol for model number 84500 asked on 2022-03-17
Hello Carol, thank you for your inquiry. We have found the following instructions for you. Remove the faucet handle cap or insert button, this will expose a screw which must be removed before you can pull off the handle assembly, then remove the handle dome and then take off the handle adapter along with the white plastic pivot nut. Use a wrench to unscrew the black plastic retainer nut pull out the copper retainer clip and pull out the cartridge with a pair of channel lock pliers or a cartridge puller. Wipe off any dirt or debris from the valve body. The cartridge has a D washer that should be put on the cartridge stem prior to installation. Insert the new cartridge into the valve with the locator tabs aligned at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock positions, this is important because if the tabs aren't lined up correctly water is blocked from flowing into the chamber. Reassemble the handle adapter kit and faucet trim pieces and replace the handle cap or insert button. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you.
