There are four plastic wheels on your vacuum. After years of use, the wheels can wear out around the axle (or break entirely).
Let's get started.
REMOVING THE WHEEL 1. Remove the wheel.
Note: The wheel retainer caps (used to secure the wheels) are usually bent or warped during the removal process. They are not re-useable, and will need to be replaced whenever a wheel is removed. (The wheel retainer caps are not included with the wheels, so be sure to order them when you order your new wheels.)
a. Use pliers to grasp and pry the metal wheel retainer cap from the axle.
b. Remove the wheel. (If removing the rear wheel, there will be a washer between the retainer cap and the wheel. Remove and retain the washer for use with the new wheel.)
INSTALLING THE NEW WHEEL
2. Install the wheel.
a. Install the new wheel onto the axle. (If replacing the rear wheel, install the washer now.)
b. Install the wheel retainer cap.
c. Use a punch and hammer to secure the wheel retainer cap.
