Multi-Tool: Can't Lock Spindle

Locks
The lock pin is used to change bits on the multi tool. The pin is located under the lock button. When you push the button down, the pin locks on the shaft, preventing it from moving during bit changes. A spring on the lock pin returns the pin and button to their normal position. Over time, this pin can wear out, or break off, and require a replacement. If the lock no longer locks when pushed down, it is time for a new lock pin. Remove the collet nut, collet and the front cap and then remove the brush caps and carbon brushes. Separate the two halves of the housing by removing the screws and opening the two halves.
