Jig Saw: Base is Stuck or Won't Adjust to Make a Bevel Cut
If your jig saw base is stuck or won't adjust to make a bevel cut, check the base for damage. This should be a fairly easy repair, and we will help you along the way. Refer to your owner's manual for advice specific to your model.
Bases
A stripped, clamping screw, or bent base, can cause the base to become unadjusted to make different cuts. Examine your base for damage and check the clamping screw as well. Remove the clamping screw and check the threads to make sure it is not stripped. If it is striped, replace the clamping screw. Examine the base for any signs of damage and if there is, replace it. On some models, you will have to remove the sub base from the old base plate and transfer it over to the new base. Install the new base and secure it with the clamping screws.
