Replacing the mantles
1. Remove the top of the lantern
Unscrew the nut and remove the top of the lantern.
2. Remove the globe
Simply pull the globe off of the lantern base.
3. Remove the old mantles
Use a pair of small snips to cut the string attaching the mantles-- then remove them from the burner assembly.
Note: Clean the excess mantle debris from the burner assembly before moving to the next step.
4. Install the new mantles
Slide the new mantles into position-- then use the string to tie them to the burner assembly.
Cut the excess string with a pair of scissors.
5. Prime the mantles
Use a match or lighter to burn (prime) the mantles 'til they're white.
6. Reassemble the lantern
Set the globe back onto the lantern-- then replace the top of the lantern and fasten it together with the nut.
