2. Released tension on blade drive belt
3. Removed belt from bad idler pulley
4. Used 9/16 end wrench to remove nut from bolt holding idler pulley onto bracket. Bolt will drop out of bracket if not pushed upward. It is a carriage bolt that has flats to hold it in place while loosening or tightening the nut.
5. Replaced old idler with replacement idler pulley
6. Tightened up nut on bolt holding on new idler pulley. Must hold bolt into bracket so flats make contact while tightening nut
7. Installed belt back onto new idler pulley
8. Rotated belt on deck assembly by hand to check alignment and fit
9. Put tension back onto deck drive belt, checked alignment again
10. Raised deck and went back to mowing grass. Total repair time under 20 minutes

So, When the 2nd mower threw a Belt, I thought simply replacing the belt was the solution until I found the idler pulley missing. I immediately went to eReplacementParts.com, found my mower by manufacturer and model number, ordered the parts I needed and had them delivered within 5 days. Within 30 minutes after the parts were delivered, I had repaired the mower and went about mowing the yard. I needed no instruction, I simply looked at the parts schematic and could see exactly how it went together. Pulleys are not a challenge. Thanks eReplacementParts.com, looks like no more wasting time and money at the "professional" lawn mower shop. For most repairs, these guys have the solution!
