This built-in oven temperature probe is supplied by the original manufacturer for use in electric ranges and ovens. It is located inside the oven cavity, and it is responsible for measuring the internal temperature of the oven during cooking. The probe is connected to the control panel, and this allows the user to easily monitor the temperature without opening the oven door. The probe should be replaced if it is damaged, worn down, or has faulty wiring. A faulty oven temperature probe will lead to inaccurate and inconsistent readings, and improperly cooked food. Unplug the appliance or switch off the circuit breaker to begin the repair. Open the oven door and remove the fasteners that secure the probe to the oven frame. Carefully disconnect the wiring connector from the probe and pull the probe out of the appliance. Connect the wire connector to the new probe and reinstall the mounting hardware to hold the new probe in place. Note that the connector on this part may be different from your original part. In this case, simply splice the wires with ceramic connectors.
