This is a genuine manufacturer-approved replacement sealing ring and the automatic air vent pack that is specially designed for use with Presto pressure cookers. The purpose of the sealing ring is to create an air-tight seal between the lid and the cooker pot. In the event if the pressure regulator fails, and to much pressure builds up in the pot, the air vent plug will pop out of the lid releasing the excess pressure in the pot. Over time the material may deteriorate and crack eventually requiring replacement to maintain the proper seal. Please note this pack of durable rubber items is sold individually.
