This prefilter is a genuine OEM sourced replacement part that is specially produced for Black and Decker hand vacuums. Its purpose is to provide an extra layer of filtration from dust and particles that are picked up by the unit. One plastic prefilter is included per order, please note that the main pleated paper filter is sold separately. No tools would be needed to replace this prefilter, simply take out the old prefilter and replace it with a new one.

Disassembled the 1810 Black and Decker hand vacuum. Removed old battery and replaced a diode (the charging light was one continuously) inserted the new battery. Since there are no instructions we depended on memory to reassemble. Made the connections prior to assembly and the motor responded with the normal speed unlike with the old battery. Continued assembly and now the light is on only when it is charging. It operates as though it is new.
