Handle grip on Circular Saw was cracked and power cord was frayed...

    Allen - March 9, 2018
    Tool Type

    Circular Saw

    Difficulty

    Medium

    Time

    15-30 minutes

    Tools Used

    Screwdriver, Pliers

Quickly removed the screws from the handle grip, which also exposed the trigger start and power cord.
Easily removed the trigger and frayed power cord, and replaced with the new one. The only drawback was having to put a new contact ring on the new power cord, which only took an additional couple of minutes, since I had a tool box of these items on hand.
Once the new power cord was in place, it was only a matter of reassembly, which went without a glitch.

I took the screws out with a power drill which then left the handle split apart. Before and during pulling out the cord and detaching it I took several pictures with my Ipad to help show how it looked before and after taking apart. This really help 2 weeks later in remembering how to reassemble the wire into the handle of the Dewalt circular saw.
