    Screwdriver, Pliers

    1. Removed handle, took a pic prior to starting, disconnecting all wires.
    2. Slid protector into place, measured & cut necessary wires to follow the original path & length needed.
    3. Added proper size wire connectors and reinstalled everything to look the same way before I started.
    4. Put handle back and most importantly....... tested.

    Cord at tool end was worn and rubber guard around cord was missing

    Removed handle screws which allowed handle holding power switch to split apart giving access to wire connections at switch

    Original power cord was cracking badly after 20+ years

    Screwdriver, Wire stripper and crimp on wire terminals

    1. Remove the top plastic parts of the handle.
    2. Take note of the lengths of the wire you are changing
    3. Pull the old cord and protector out of the square hole on the handle leaving the wires attached.
    4. Slide on the cord protector on the new cord and then mount the new protector in the square hole
    5. Start with the longest wire. Remove the screw holding the wire. Strip the insulation on the new
    wire and crimp on a new terminal and reattach with the old screw.
    6. Repeat with the other two wires.
    7. Reinstall handle top and test the saw.

    The cord protector and the cord had a lot of age and was in bad shape. Replaced both and it works like new

    Took the hand cover off and matched the wires to the old ones. Put the cord prtector on the new cord and put in in place. connected the witres to the switch and neutral wire as needed.

    Cord ground fell out and switch went bad

    Removed one handle half, removed the switch and the cord clamp. Disconnected the wires from the switch. You may want to make a wiring diagram first. I then slid the cord protector from the old cord and slid it on the new cord. I connected all of the wires to the switch, attached the switch to the handle, put the cord clamp back on, then put the handle half back on.
