    The valve got hard to turn then finally broke so the water could not be shut off.

    Screwdriver, Pliers, Crocus cloth (fine grit cloth sand paper)

    1 Removed knob
    2 Removed wall cover plate
    3 Removed spring clip
    4 Used pliers and lots of elbow grease to pull old assembly out.

    Discovered that seals had got caught between assembly and internal housing which is what caused failure.

    5 Fine sanded calcification out of main faucet housing
    6 Used silicon plumbers grease on new assembly o-ring and two other rubber gaskets
    7 Aligned assembly appropriately the gently pushed new assembly in main faucet body.

    8 Reassembled faucet in reverse of disassembly procedure
    9 Tested and all was good.

    The cartridge wouldn't let any cold water through.

    Shut.both hot and cold water supply. Removed screw from handle. Pulled cartridge retainer clip off and removed cartridge with a pair of piers on the stem. Put a little soap on new cartridge so it would slip in easier. Reinstalled cartridge replaced retaining clip and handle. Turned water supply on. Done! Follow the instructions sent with new cartridge as to how to set the cartridge in correct position.

    Valve leaked

    Turn off Water.
    Removed valve handle and cover
    Removed clip holding valve in place
    Removed old Valve
    Placed silicone grease onto valve
    Replace valve and other parts
    Turned on water
    Leak issue repaired

    Remove handle, remove retainer clip, pull carefully on cartridge to remove. Reverse process for install. Easy for me and I'm a carpenter...
