The balance weight connecting rods broke in a 20 HP>single cyl engine from lack of oil.

This repair is for expert or advanced mechanics, as it requires a complete engine disassembly.
I don't know if a lot of people will expend the effort to make this repair.The crankshaft must be removed, and cleaned, to install the lower rod, along with the timing gear and connecting rod.

I found that some aluminum from the balance weight rods had transferred to the crankshaft journals, preventing the new ones from slipping into place. The crank lobes needed to be polished to accept the new ones..
It was much less expensive than buying a short block,( by several hundred dollars) and I'm glad the parts were available. They arrived on time and in good shape, making the job relatively easy.lol.
