how much vertical lift should the crankshaft have? is there a bearing or bushing that can be replaced if there is to much wear or do i have to replace the plate?

Hi Pat and thank you for contacting us. Yes, the crankshaft should not be able to move. It's ok for it to move in and out just enough to feel it and nothing more, anything else you will be required to replace the Plate, Closure and Bearing Part Number: 24009227-S.
