The pivot bushing attaches to the pivot axle and the upright. It is made out of metal and will require replacing if it becomes broken. This part is available as an individual replacement part, but keep in mind that multiple parts may be needed. This is a genuine NordicTrack and ProForm part sourced directly from the manufacturer for use in ellipticals. A wrench set might be required during the installation of this part.

I disconnected the tops of the arms from the bottom where they are hooked to the platforms for your feet, but not sure that was completely necessary. There's a shaft that runs through both arms with 2 bolts on the ends. I removed the bolts, replaced the bushing and spacer and put the bolts back on. Then I reattached the arms to the bottom. I'm not sure if the bushing was an exact fit, there was a little gap between the spacers that I'm not sure should be there, but I think it's good enough for the elliptical that we paid $75 for.
