This is a genuine Husqvarna and Jonsered part sourced directly from the manufacturer. The metal piston ring is for use in blowers and attaches to the piston. Piston rings help in the sealing of the combustion chamber. It may become bent or broken and will require replacing. This is available as an individual replacement part, but two may be required for installation.

    Ran gas without oil in it, blower piston seized up

    Screwdriver, Pliers, Socket set, Cylinder Hone

    1. Disassembled covers on blower to access Engine
    2. Remove Muffler and Carburetor
    3. Remove Cylinder Head.
    4. Hone cylinder wall scratches with Cylinder Hone on hand drill
    5. Remove old Piston and bearings.
    6. Install new piston and bearings (after installing new piston rings on piston).
    7. lube cylinder with 2-cycle oil
    8. Reassemble by reversing steps 3,2,1 above.
    9. Replaced old gas with properly mixed oil-gas mixture
    10. Started on 5th pull. Works fine.

    Was able to save cylinder with a brake hone and replaced piston and rings. Somewhat difficult to get piston rings lined up to get into cylinder. Watched a couple of good videos on 2 cycle engines.

    Piston seized up. A fella gave it to me that couldn't fix it

    Removed front cover. Remover carburetor and exhaust. Removed cylinder head, and then removed the piston. 1st I had to put diesel in the spark plug tube to free the engine up. Installed all new parts and started on the 5th pull. Running like a top
