This steel ball is an OEM replacement part supplied directly from Makita. It is crafted for use with various machines, including miter saws and demolition hammers. The retainer needed a wider slot, which is easy with a bench grinder
There was no slot or cup for the steel ball. The cup is a drill spot in the drill press and the slot was cut using a side grinder and cleaned with a die grinder.
