The chain brake is a complete part assembly that is used to stop the rotation of the chain by restricting the clutch drum. This item also includes the chain bar adjust that slightly moves the bar to change the tension in the chain. The chain brake assembly is priced as a single item, please note the brake handle is separate.

Could not adjust the bar and chain tension

Removed two nuts from the old chain brake assembly, and removed it. Put the new assembly on the saw and bolted it down. Then I adjusted the tension on the bar and chain

Bolted the new brake assembly on with wrench that came with chainsaw when I bought it.
Adjusted chain tension with screwdriver. Cranked the saw up and cut down a few trees for my
neighbor. Saw worked just like brand new. Ereplacement parts.com is where I will buy my parts . The part I ordered was exactly like the part that cam e on the saw new

1. removed side screw for hand brake. to rwplace new.
2. removed 2 screws that hold chain bar and replaced with new brake. simple and easy nothing else all falls in place

Pulled the old cover off, readjusted new cover tension bolt .It was on the front the old one was a disc on the side. Also the new cover had holes for 2 bolts not one to lock the chain bar in place. Much better . After a couple of pulls ..brrrrm ready to rock
