I removed the carburetor and cleaned the ports and needle valve with carburetor cleaner which did not completely solve the problem.
The customer had left gas in the tank and carburetor from the previous summer and the reed-valves in the carburetor were distorted.
I normally use a rebuild kit but could not find the exact kit because the motor was about six years old.
I also found a split crankcase "O"-ring while cleaning up the engine.
Replaced the Walbro carburetor and the crankcase "O" ring.
The engine now starts on the first pull and runs like a scalded rabbit!
I highly recommend eReplacement Parts for small engine repair parts. I have tried almost all of the more widely known online parts houses, and most are good, but you can't beat the price, inventory and fast shipping of e-Replacement Parts!
