Product Description ?

This is a Rocker switch that has 2 prong terminals and 2 screw terminals with the screws in them. This genuine Bosch replacement part is sold individually.

Switches are commonly replaced parts in power tools. A switch handles on/off and variable speed functions. They also have a role in electric breaking; they can momentarily reverse electrical polarity. Because switches use mechanical internals, they will degrade and wear out over time, eventually requiring replacement. Some common signs of a broken or failing switch are:

  • The tool has completely stopped functioning – it will not turn on.
  • The tool operates intermittently, requiring multiple tries to turn on, until eventually it won’t turn on at all.
  • The variable speed function and electric braking aren’t working properly.

    Tool Type

    Grinder

    Difficulty

    Easy

    Time

    15-30 minutes

    Tools Used

    Screwdriver, Wire stripper

Took the end housing off the grinder. Took a photo of the wiring on the switch to be sure where to reattach the wires. I removed the wires and unscrewed the screws holding the switch down. Removed the switch and cut off the ends of the wires and stripped the insulation from the ends of the wires to expose good wire. Screwed the new switch in place and reattached the wires. Screwed the housing back on the grinder and the job was done. The grinder works like new now.

The 4.5" angle grinder would not turn on after 19 years in the fiberglass industry. Dust got to it!

    Terry - June 23, 2016
    Tool Type

    Grinder

    Difficulty

    Easy

    Time

    Less than 15 minutes

    Tools Used

    Screwdriver

Had previously taken the grinder apart and tested the switch an found it was not working after 19 years of grinding fiberglass. Since the switch could not be taken apart and repaired, i replaced it with a new one purchased from your Company. Since the grinder was already apart, it took only 5 minuets to install the switch and put the casing back on. It started up with no problems. Fantastic site. I will return for any parts I might be looking for.
