Hard 30-60 minutes (3 rated repairs)?

    Needed to replace edge blade

    Toby - July 6, 2023
    Tool Type

    Trimmer

    Difficulty

    Hard

    Time

    More than 2 hours

    Tools Used

Socket set, Wrench Set, impact wrench, grinder, nut spliter, chisel

Tried to back the nut off the trimer head.
Used impact wrench and it still didn't budge.
Tried using a nut splitter but because nut was a flange nut I couldn't get the splitter seated properly.
Tried using a chisel to split the nut but it was a little awkward.
End up using a grinder to cut the nut enough to split it and I finally got it loose.

Left Hand Flange Nut was stuck to blade attachment shaft.

    Franklin - May 23, 2023

    Edger

    Difficulty

    Expert

    Time

    30-60 minutes

    Tools Used

Socket set, 4 1/2 Angle Grinder, Nut Splitter

The way to hold the shaft was not strong enough to hold the shaft. It is just a small slot in hub behind the blade.
1.Cut the wings of the flange nut on two opposite sides with the angle grinder with a thin cut off disk.
    2. Use the nut splitter to break the nut on one side.
    3. Then pull split nut off.
    4. Replace blade and use new LH flange nut from
    ereplacement parts.
