This is a genuine OEM sourced replacement part used on lawn mowers. Mulching blades are designed to circulate the grass longer so it can be cut into smaller pieces. This makes your grass clippings better as mulch since the smaller clippings will decompose more quickly, releasing their nutrients into the soil. This part is made out of metal and it is sold individually. To replace it you would need a wrench to remove the nut that secure the blade.

1. Removed old blade with socket and ratchet.
2. Discovered the blade adapter had the drive pins sheared off.
3. Went to one service shop and was told no such part in stock.
4. Went to another service shop and was told that the manufacturer had replaced the part with a different part. The replaced adapter had steel drive pins and a shear-off key. (Old one had a steel key with shear-off pins.)
5. Replaced adapter and blade with socket and ratchet.

No special instructions. If you are at all, even a little, handy with tools and have a little mechanical knowledge it is no big deal. Normal maintenance done every year on my lawnmower. Change oil, air filter, spark plug and replace or sharpen blade every 2 years.

I just tipped my mower on its side and use my 9/16 socket remove the bolt took the blade off And took the exact replacement part blade for my craftsman mower and put it on and it was an exact fit And it’s back to having some nice cut grass
