The Xp 115 is a pretty basic unit to start with. But in order to get down to the resistance motor I had to basically tear the unit all the way down. The long stride supports had to come off on both sides. Then I needed to take off the right rear wheel assembly off to be able to get to all the screws that hold the two halves of the plastic body panels off. There are about 8 Phillips screws that hold the two halves together. Once separated the motor is sitting in plain site . Just unplug the wire coupler and take note how the resistance cable comes off the wheel , remove , reinstall the new motor then reverse the tear down and your done . The once dead elliptical is now back alive again. My wife is very HAPPY .It was broke for over a year and we contemplated weather to fix it or buy another. For the price of the part and a little bit of time to fix it this definitely was the cheaper way to go .Not to mention E- Replacement parts has a no hassle return policy so if it didn't fix it I could have returned it no questions asked.

Rebuilt the eddy mechanism then found problem was the resistance motor... So here's the deal...before you replace the covers, attached the pedal and rotate it to set the resistance with adjust spar between motor and eddy... Then close it up

Remove the foot rests on the pedal cranks with a wrench. The left foot rest has reverse threads. Remove the flywheel covers with a Phillips screwdriver. Slip the covers over the pedal cranks and set them aside. It helped me to take a photo of the motor so I could see how to reinstall the new motor. Loosen the screws holding the motor. Take the cable off the motor. The cable end just lifts out of a grove on the pulley. I pushed on the flywheel magnet to release the tension on the cable. Unplug the wiring connector on the motor. Put the new motor in and reassemble everything.
