This lower spray arm with a heat shield, is an authentic manufacturer replacement part specially made for dishwashers. It is positioned at the bottom of the appliance tub where it is responsible for distributing water and detergent during the wash cycle. It does so by spraying water upwards and then rotating to evenly circulate the water and soap. It is normal for the arm to become damaged or clogged due to food or normal aging. If your dishwasher has a faulty spray arm, you will likely hear unusual and excessive noise during use, and notice that the dishes, particularly those in the lower rack, are not adequately cleaned. Ensure that the dishwasher is switched off before beginning this repair. Detach the spray arm by first removing the fastener that holds it in place, and then pulling it out of the appliance. Position the new spray arm in the appliance tab with the nozzles/openings facing upward and secure it before switching the dishwasher back on.
