2. Remove torx screws from head assembly housing and split housing to access drive gears.
3. Remove broken end of flexible drive cable and clean out hub and gears. There will be broken bits that must be cleaned out.
4. Re-lube gears and ends of flexible drive shaft.
5. Re-set gears in housing, assemble housing, slide flexible drive cable end into top gear, slide cable into shaft tube, and attach tube to housing.
6. Attach lower unit to upper unit at quik- link, insuring flexible drive cable is inserted into collet.

Removed gearbox at trimmer head (3 screws) and clamp
Removed 2 screws on the lower shaft
Cleaned all the old grease from the gears and bearings (inspect the gears, if chipped clean everything before reassembly)
Inserted new flex shaft from the bottom and reassembled in reverse order.
Nothing to it!
It took me a bit longer because I cleaned everything to insure bits of chipped gears were not present before reassembly.
